C.A.R.E.

Compassionate Aid of Resources

C.A.RE. is a  program designed to give Churches of Christ the ability to respond to their local communities in times of disaster, thereby demonstrating Christ's love and caring spirit. C.A.RE. also attemps to acquires and distributes supplies to medical mission efforts of the Church of Christ throughout the world.

C.A.RE. is a operation that creates stock piles of staple foods, bedding, and household supplies, which can be trucked or shipped to areas of need in times of disaster. These supplies are given to a local Churches of Christ for distribution, thereby supporting the work of the Church in the area of the disaster. All supplies distributed are labeled as coming from the Church of Christ.  We have supported this effort through an organization in the Nashville, Tennessee area called "Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort".  C.A.RE. hopes to act in concert with this program and with local congregational benevolence, assisting the respective congregations in demonstrating Christ's spirit.

When the young lawyer, as recorded in Luke chapter 10 asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?" Jesus responded with the parable of the Good Samaritan. He then asked the young man, "Who was neighbor to the injured man?" He replied, "The one who showed him mercy." Jesus then said to him (and to us), "Go and do likewise." This commandment is what C.A.RE. is all about.
